Uttar Pradesh is a state of India that is famous for numerous things including its history, temples, festivals, food and the heritage properties of UP. There are numerous heritage properties located in UP that give you an idea of the heritage of UP.
One such heritage property is the Surat Bhavan Palace found on the fertile area of Tarai Sugar belt, 15 km from the Nepal border. It was built in 1894 in Indo-Sarasenic style where the palace has ten bedrooms, a large dining room with pantry and a lounge in each of its two floors. It is located on 8 acres of lawns and grounds, where there are a servant’s quarters at the back too. The Surat Bhavan Palace is great for adventure tourism where one can enjoy fishing and trekking besides the flora and fauna of Dudhwa National Park. But for the monsoon months, the weather here is pleasant throughout the year. Another heritage property of UP is Mahesh Vilas Palace of Shivgarh, UP. This palace is located in 35 acres of green lawns, orchards and fountains. It has luxurious rooms, a dining area, durbar hall and a wide veranda with marble pillars. Indoor games like table tennis and pool table can be played in the palace. The Jagmanpur Fort of Jalaun, UP comes next in line in the heritage property list of UP. This is a four story square fort with a moat on three sides and has about 100 big and small halls and rooms. There are two big iron and bronze entrance gates and a single terrace that provides you a view of Rivers and Ravines. The total area of the palace grounds is about seven acres. Sant Tulsidas had presented Jagman Shah, the owner of the palace a ‘Ek Mukhi Rudraksha, a Dahinaverti Shunkh and a Laxminarayan Bati which are still worshipped and kept in the fort. The Bansi palace is about 150 years old and built on an area of 20 acres. Its tall gateway with majestic lions and the sprawling compound reminds you of a bygone era on entering the palace compound. The palace houses 4 double bed rooms with attached bathrooms where traditional furniture and family portraits decorate the rooms. There is also a badminton court, table tennis table and badminton court in the palace grounds. |
